Churn

Churn is the percentage of users or revenue lost over a period; it's the inverse of retention. High churn caps growth because every new customer only replaces one who left, and it inflates the effective cost of acquisition. Diagnosing why users churn — through cohort analysis and exit signals — is more valuable than the headline number.
